Producer Eddie F, Still Untouchable

It’s been a career full of highlights. Back in the late 80s and all of the 90s, Eddie F produced a discography made for legends. He was the co-founder, partner and DJ of Heavy D & the Boyz, and produced the lion’s share of the group’s hits. In the early days of the Uptown Records machine, Eddie produced and/or remixed songs for Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Father MC, Jodeci, Al B Sure and Mary J. Blige. Eddie created the original theme song music for the popular Fox television series, In Living Color. Through his Untouchables Entertainment brand, dozens of artists such as TLC, Mariah Carey, Will Smith, and a Eddie F-discovery by the name of Donnell Jones benefited from his production. Eddie’s A&R and production prowess landed him executive posts at LaFace and Motown Records.

Currently, based in Atlanta, Eddie is involved in a number of new projects that center on songwriters and producers. “I’m trying to assemble a Hip-Hop and R&B movement like we did in the late 80s,” he says. Eddie announced the launch of his new venture, Trak Meet Entertainment, a digital distribution and lifestyle company with an emphasis on technology and music; the two things he loves most. “I was a huge Steve Jobs and Apple observer well before their influence in music, and now we’re experiencing another leg in the digital revolution,” he says. “The music industry is morphing, changing like it always has, and the game has to be re-thought. Through Trak Meet Entertainment, it’s my goal to create synergies between technologyand the new music business.”

More recently, Eddie has been taking advantage of TV opportunities, scoring music for an array of original BET and Centric programs and promo spots. Two of his latest efforts are the advertising campaigns for news personality TJ Holmes’ late night “Don’t Sleep” and BET’s “We Got You” fall campaign.
