Amazon Music has launched podcasts in the UK, US, Germany, and Japan, across all tiers of service.
The platform’s podcast offering includes original shows produced exclusively for Amazon Music and hosted by the likes of DJ Khaled, Will Smith, Dan Patrick, Becky G, and others.
Amazon Music customers can access podcasts in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android, on Amazon Echo devices.
The news follows the recent announcement that Amazon Music has partnered with live streaming platform Twitch (which is owned by Amazon) to incorporate Twitch’s live streaming functionality into the Amazon Music app on IOS and Android.
According to Steve Boom, VP of Amazon Music, “podcasts, paired with our recent partnership with Twitch to bring live streaming into the app, makes Amazon Music a premiere destination for creators”.
Amazon Music has partnered with creators to produce original, exclusive podcasts including the DJ Khaled-hosted The First One (pictured).
Developed by Amazon Music and the Springhill Company, in The First One, DJ Khaled will interview his favorite artists about “the hits that made them iconic and eventually legendary”.
Amazon Music and Audible will soon be featuring a project from Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith’s Westbrook Audio, a co-production with Audible.
Also coming to Amazon Music is a brand-new multimedia podcast called En la Sala, hosted and curated by Latin superstar Becky G, featuring an audio and video broadcast on Amazon Music’s Twitch Channel.
Popular shows such as Sh**ged.Married.Annoyed with Chris & Rosie Ramsey, No Such Thing as a Fish, Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Stories of our times, LuAnna: The Podcast, Casefile True Crime, Real Dictators and The Girls Bathroom are also available on Amazon Music now.
