Urban Network Digital in conjunction with Music Industry Quarterly Magazine are hosting their Annual Music-Entertainment Conference, in San Diego, Calif., June 1-5, 2016. The venue for the 4 ½ day event will once again held at tropical-themed Crowne Plaza Hotel, 2270 Hotel Circle North, San Diego, CA 92108. Registration will be $100 for the entire Conference. Hotel guest rooms are $145 per night plus tax.
This is the only event of its kind on the West Coast. Executive producers for the Conference are Urban Network Digital President Arthur Mitchell, Music Industry Quarterly Publisher David Mitchell, and Urban Network Digital Vice President Arthur Mitchell III aka DJ Artistic. Former Urban Network President Miller London will continue in his role as Conference Co-Chair.
The 2015 Urban Network Digital Conference was a spectacular confab with more than 1,000 people in attendance. Over 100 top music industry professionals were on hand to share their wealth of expertise and knowledge, participating in a dozen entertainment-related seminars, panels and workshops. The Conference was well-attended by radio programmers and mix show DJs, artist managers, entertainment attorneys, music publishers, performance rights organizations, music supervisors, trade groups, digital music strategists, film and TV consultants, bloggers, journalists & the like.
Some 70 independent artists from all genres of music, ranging from R&B, Rap, Urban Alternative and Gospel, including several bands, performed over the 3 ½ day event, capping off with critically-acclaimed R&B artists such as Grammy nominee Antonique Smith, Grammy nominee Angie Fisher, American Idol finalist Joshua Ledet, X-Factor finalist AKNU, and Grammy nominee Ray J. The Conference also featured performances by R&B singer Adina Howard, West Coast hip-hop singer TQ, Bay Area rapper Rich Cole, former NBA star/now recording artist/rapper-poet Daniel “Booby” Gibson, Gospel singers Brent Jones, Eddie Baltrip & Fulfillment, and newcomers V3 and Jermaine Dolly. Special appearances were made by recording artist/Vine star Liane V; and producer Harvey Mason Jr., and Jhene Aiko, the latter two who were participants on a special panel session hosted by the Los Angeles Chapter of the Recording Academy®, titled, “Beyond the Statue: Inside the GRAMMYs®”
The Music & Entertainment Conference 2016 is already generating a massive buzz, and is anticipated to build on the momentum and good will from the 2015 and 2014 events.
